Rotary Matching Grant
The war in Croatia is history. Nevertheless, humans have still to fight with its consequences. Between 1991 and 1995 ten thousands people lost their life, their health and millions of people their homes. The war left an incredible extent of devastations and whole regions suffered under the dictation of ethnical cleanings. This photo-report wants to show some impressions of the visit of Rotarians from Rotselaar and Leipzig in Zagreb and Karlovac last November. We had the possibility to take part at the charter celebration of the Rotary Club of Zagreb-Gradec and to visit the sites of our new project in the Convent of the Dominican Sisters in Zagreb. Our trip was accomplished by an excursion to Karlovac, a city that was almost completely devastated during the occupation by the troops of the former Yugoslavia.

Meeting with representatives of the Rotary Club of Karlovac in Karlovac to get an impression of the current situation in the former operational zones.
Karlovac was one of the most heavily destroyed towns in Croatia. Countless mines are still buried in the ground.
